Joseph Bulova took it one step further and designed a line of men’s watches set in jeweled casings. In 1923 the name Bulova Watch Company, Inc. is put into place. The company ships 5000 of these commemorative watches. In total, 50000 Charles Lindbergh watches were sold. In 1935, the founder of the company, Joseph Bulova dies. In the early 1960’s the Bulova Watch Company’s biggest claim to fame is released to the world. It was a totally unique watch called the Accutron. This watch was made using the technology of the tuning fork.

During the depression years the Bulova Watch Company sold their goods to customers on credit and faith that they would be repaid. Credited with the invention of the Accutron technology, Bulova Watches were the first in history to accurately and reliably keep time via electronics, as opposed to simple winding mechanisms. For many people there comes a sense of pride along with the ownership of one of these history rich watches. With today’s Bulova Watches you will find an absolutely vast array of choices in both design and style.

Many people prefer the self winding type of watch because it is essentially maintenance free. Although most people think of electric watches as just getting their power from small, replaceable batteries found within the watches themselves, Bulova Watches pioneered the quartz technology; and this technology has played a major role in the development and eventual perfecting of integrated circuits.
